Germany releases Mongolian spy master wanted for abduction, torture

German authorities have unexpectedly released the former director of Mongolia’s spy agency, who was arrested in London in 2010 in a carefully planned intelligence operation. The former spy master was scheduled to face charges of abducting a Mongolian political-asylum seeker in France in 2003, and secretly transporting him to Mongolia through Germany, with the intention of torturing him.
